01You have a dedicated growth or data team running Amplitude or Mixpanel
If you have an analytics engineer, a growth PM, and a data warehouse already, those tools are deeper than Onboardics. They give you raw SQL access, custom event taxonomy, multi-touch attribution, and the dedicated infrastructure to run them well. Onboardics is built for teams that can't justify that headcount yet.
Use instead
Amplitude — native cohort segmentation, complex SQL queries, dedicated infrastructure designed for data-mature teams. They're great at what they do.
02You're processing 100M+ events per month
Our pricing tops out at 30K MAU/month on the Business tier. If you're moving more events than that, you should be on a real data warehouse with raw SQL access and serverless analytics workers — not on us. Forcing Onboardics's pricing model to fit your scale would be expensive and architecturally wrong.
Use instead
Snowflake or BigQuery + a custom analytics stack — they handle your scale natively and give you the raw-SQL access we don't.
03Your product is consumer-mobile-first
We're web-first. Our snippet runs in browsers; we don't have native iOS or Android SDKs and we don't plan to ship them. If your customer journey lives in a mobile app, Onboardics will miss the moments that matter.
Use instead
Mixpanel — native iOS and Android SDKs we don't have. Their mobile session-tracking + push-notification analytics are built for that ICP from day one.
04You need a HIPAA BAA, SOC 2 Type II, FedRAMP, or on-prem deployment today
SOC 2 Type II is on the roadmap (Q4 2026). Until that ships, regulated-industry buyers should pick a vendor with the certifications already in place. We'll get there but we're not there yet, and we won't pretend otherwise to win a deal we can't service.
Use instead
Pendo or Heap — both have SOC 2 Type II in production and the enterprise sales motion to negotiate Business Associate Agreements + custom security riders. They're built for buyers with procurement requirements.
05You want a managed analytics service — “set up our dashboards for us”
Onboardics is self-serve. We don't have a customer success team that builds your dashboards, sits in your weekly review meetings, or hand-holds your analytics implementation. The product is designed for founders and small teams who'd rather paste a script tag and let AI do the analysis than coordinate with a CSM.
Use instead
Pendo or FullStory — both have managed-services arms with dedicated Customer Success Managers who'll build your dashboards, run your QBRs, and handle your implementation. White-glove service is what they sell.
06You're pre-product or pre-traffic
Onboardics needs roughly 7 days and 100 sessions of data before it can produce useful diagnoses. The AI flags low-confidence findings on smaller samples, but the product becomes meaningfully more valuable once your funnel has actual traffic flowing through it. If you're still building the MVP and haven't shipped to users, the install will work — but the diagnoses will all be flagged provisional.
Use instead
Come back when you have traffic. Onboardics is free up to 250 MAU forever, so installing the snippet now and waiting until your funnel has signal is also a valid path. Your call.
Still here?
If none of those six disqualified you, you're probably the right fit. Try the live demo on a real dashboard with no signup required — or DM the founder if you'd rather talk first. Not sure if you fit? Run the numbers — three inputs, three scenarios, no signup.
